I'm sorry, i'm going to be bold but i've been grabbing too much part of people in car accidents over last years.
Accelerating when someone is overtaking you is a dumb stupid move. It doesn't prove anything, it puts everyone's life in danger : the driver, the pedestrians, the other cars, you. Every time, it's the same story "I didn't see the kid", " I've done it many times, it's the others that should look after me", excuses and excuses but there is someone dead that didn't ask anything so there is no point of denying.
Even if it's staged, there is no excuse. They should have found some old runway or a track.
If they want do something stupid, at least they should have the decency and respect to do it without anyone around.

Passing that, i'm curious to know how did they manage to get an electrical engine so small to get such output power. It must be light so the batteries shouldn't be working for long.
