As much as I appreciate her skills, I don't want that to be at the cost of a healthy childhood.

Stop watching any kind Sports, at least 99% of all olympic athletes had to sacrifice at least parts of their childhood to compete for that spot where nadia was standing.

To build up the necessary muscle memory you need tens of thousands of repetitions. It can be fun at times though. You are together with kids your age and of course you have fun when you are good at stuff, but at the expense of sitting lazy in your room.

As long as you don’t regret it when you are grown up and most athletes do not regret it i‘m perfectly fine with sports, even at this extreme level.

The only concern I have is, that an extreme sport like that an many others cause quite a wear and tear on your body, just think of all the falls, injuries, surgeries. I wonder if there is an increase of arthritis and chronic pain as these people age.

#4 They don't normally live long enough for arthritis, once they get hooked on the steroids and switch to Opioids, it's only a small summersault to the gutter. :squirrel::squirrel:
