This Mushroom Starts Killing You Before You Even Realize It

The notorious death cap mushroom causes poisonings and deaths around the world. If you were to eat these unassuming greenish mushrooms by mistake, you wouldn’t know your liver is in trouble until several hours later.
A toxin in the mushroom destroys your liver cells. Dr. Kent Olson, co-medical director of the San Francisco Division of the California Poison Control System, said that for the first six to 12 hours after they eat the mushroom, victims of the death cap feel fine. During that time, a toxin in the mushroom is quietly injuring their liver cells. Patients then develop severe abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting. “They can become very rapidly dehydrated from the fluid losses,” said Olson. Dehydration can cause kidney failure, which compounds the damage to the liver. For the most severe cases, the only way to save the patient is a liver transplant.

Got it in Europe as well. One of the very few poisonous mushrooms here, but this one wins. Personally knew a guy who died after mistakenly eating it and spent several days in hospital :(.

I guess the moral of the story is if you go to a hat shop to buy a cap, don't get one with a massive spike pointing down from the inside or one woven out of the stings of African Killer bees as it may not end well, but that's only my opinion, you can obviously take your chances if you want, its a free country, when I say free, I mean you have to pay for stuff, except rain and air, that's free, or they are to be accurate. No I mean free in the sense that you can pretty much think your own thoughts without the government getting in your face and saying "No stop that, it's not allowed, didn't you see the sign back there, yeah that's right the one that says, stop thinking now, because you have just entered North Korea or somewhere and it's not allowed, we'll do all the thinking for you from now on, you just sew those trousers over there and make those death caps that we are short of, there will be a new delivery of African Killer bee stings and a new needle on Tuesday, oh and a pattern to work to, mind your fingers, there are a lot of sharp things coming your way." "Shush wants that sound in the bushes, could be anything"? 8-)
