Huge Alligator Snapping Turtles at the Natchitoches National Fish Hatchery
A US Fish & Wildlife Service program at the Natchitoches National Fish Hatchery is a "captive rearing program" designed to breed alligator snapping turtles for restocking natural waterways. This program is a joint effort to help raise national numbers of the threatened species.

#1 Do you live in Louisiana then Crazyhorse? You are very fortunate to live near such amazing creatures. Not sure I would enjoy all the mud though.

Snapping turtles are actually good eating and its legal in the states before you say it is endangered they are not in this state.
7 types of meat comes from snapping turtle and if you ask me, they have parts that taste like veal, chicken or even pork. Too much work for the amount of meat though, if you are looking for some recipe google it. YUM!
