Great advert, This would be mine.... I don't care who you are, if you smoke, after all the advice that is out there you are a fecking idiot your breath smells, your clothes smell and your hair smells and if you sit anywhere near me my clothes and hair will smell of your smell and it's disgusting. If you smoke in your house and there are children in the same room you should be ashamed of yourself, you are killing them, likewise if you smoke in your car and children are in there with you. If your children end up getting lung cancer or go on to smoke themselves it will be your fault and I hope they sue you. If you are young and smoke you do not look cool, or big or clever, you look stupid, smoking causes cancer and it is antisocial and I hate it. Come with me and visit a cancer ward. <3

I have been a non smoker all my life, except for two years when I was a teen from age 17 until 19. I know all the risks it poses to your health and I have seen people die from illnesses that were mostly caused by heavy smoking and/or years of exposure to second hand smoke. However for some odd reason I find it very sexy when a guy lights a cigarette, plus I love the fragrance of the freshly lit tobacco, call me crazy, I have no explanation for it, but it's the truth. O:):squirrel::)

#3. Judge-Jake The one thing you didn’t include in your spot on rant was cost. Cigs are expensive! I am amazed at how much a pack costs in my country. Yes, it is all taxes designed to be a financial disincentive, which is fine and I agree with, but not smoking also frees up money to be spent on other self-destructive pleasures like alcohol and spliffs and such.

#5 You are crazy. Also it's exactly comments like that Thunders that fuel young people to smoke, because people of the opposite sex (The crazy ones) think they are cool and sexy. They aren't they stink, their fingers are yellow and if you spend anytime with them most sane people will turn their nose up because of the smell you bring into the room. Having said that you could make your own advert...'Smoke you will attract crazy women who don't care that you are an idiot and stink' <3

My grandfather smoked from roughly the age of ten...right up until he passed away. And no...it wasn't the giggies that got him....he had a massive heart attack...while ( and this is true ) bonking the brains out of his 32 year old girlfriend, and she was just one of many...as we found out when we found his 'little black book'. When it came time for his funeral over THIRTY women turned up at the crematorium...age from 27 all the way up to 73! Way to go granddad!

#8. cameramaster ‘My grandfather smoked from roughly the age of ten...right up until he passed away [at] 73.

A lovely example of a statistical anomaly with respect to human genetics, cancers and why some people develop them after years of self-destructive behaviours and others don’t. These kind of example are what allowed the tobacco companies to lie to citizens for years (ok, that and self-financed research that was inherently skewed) and deny the causal relationship between smoking and cancer. See some heavy smokers do not develop cancer therefore no link.

Examples like cameramaster’s grandfather are totally expected and predicted in any robust model.

Bottom line is some people get lucky. Why or how is the more interesting question IMHO.

#8#9 Totally agree with Austin here and the undercurrent of your story Cameramaster is how many people having seen your grandfather puff away for all of his life were persuaded to start smoking and were not so genetically lucky, He could be responsible for many deaths from the habit without even knowing about it. Also the fact that he was a grandfather and was bonking lots of women doesn't necessarily mean he couldn't have gone on until he was 103 so perhaps the fags contributed to his heart attack, it's not only cancer that they cause, hardening of the arteries are well up there. 8-)

#7 I know, I even find myself crazy sometimes, but I have come to accept that...don't worry, I'm not making such bluntly honest confessions of myself out in public, so I think the younger generation is safe..lol, and I think most on snotr aren't that young, although we don't know that for sure.....and yes, JJ, I agree, I don't like all the rest of the stuff associated with smoking either, the stale smoke, the coughing, the dirty curtains and full ashtrays, and at the end, oxygen dependency, so you are entirely right with your statements. <3
