Limited sunlight for a good part of the year and exorbitant prices for alcohol drives people a bit batty and thus you get ‘events’ like this. ;-)

Granted the Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake near Gloucester or the Royal Shrovetide Football Match in Ashbourne are no less nuts…

Cool event, though that dude in the white is pretty weird. I wouldn't turn my back on him nor let him babysit my kids. ;)>:)

#3 Were you familiar with this event? I hope you didn't mean it sarcastically that you are proud of your heritage, because you do have a fascinating culture.

#6 No sarcasm, we have quite the unique sense of humor here even tho people think we are a bit grumpy :D
There is a lot of finnish that doesn't really translate to english, the joke and humor is lost in the translation :D
And I think this quite a local culture event :P we don't see much of this in Helsinki but what the hell :D I would watch this I would happen to be traveling in the country side and happen to stumble upon this, maybe even take part xD
