Of course you should listen to their arguments and measure them against the measured facts.

The problem with their argument is that they are partially true but not really talking about the measured facts.
If you talk about climate change scientist are talking about periods of 10000 years. And now the temperature is rising in a period of 100 years which is about 100 times faster.

I have not heard a convincing argument why the temperature is rising so fast from these scientist.
That the temperature was warmer millions of years ago is true but can not be applied to the current period of time.

its great they use the climate millions ago for example with todays climate. but we didnt exist then.
we live in a period of earth's time, where it is habitable for humans or any other form of life.

Here's a bone to chew on for explanation of why climate is changing so fast now. And by the way, it has nothing to do with us humans. In other words we do not affect climate very much. Earth's magnetic field is weakening in the past 350 years and that weakening is exponentially accelerating in the last decade or so. Our magnetic poles are shifting. #12 No need to make assumptions about me and what I might believe or not. You don't know me, and I don't know you. I only posted a link to another point of view on the topic. Personally I have no idea what the truth about the climate is. However if you believe you do, then be prepared that you might be wrong. Reality have a tendency to disregard what we people think and believe.

The point of view I posted simply states that since earth magnetic field is weakening that means that our "defense" against solar radiation is also weakening. Hence the earth is receiving more energy from the Sun and therefore climate change.

And yes, us humans "f**k up" earth big time by destroying flora and fauna and creating huge amounts of trash and pollution. However that is not the main or only cause for climate change as mainstream science would have us think. In fact, it is probably many levels of magnitude lesser that what the Sun can throw at us at any moment.

Be open to the possibility that mainstream science is not always right. Often it is, but not always. With an attitude of "I know" or "we know" or "science knows", you usually close yourself to seeing what is actually happening right in front of your nose.

But, you're of course free to believe whatever you wish. Either you blindly believe what you're told, or you look for yourself.

They specialize in FUD (sowing Fear Uncertainty and Doubt)
It was the leading propagandist for the tobacco claiming there was no link between smoking and lung cancer.
Working for Phillip Morris, Brown and Williamson etc
It has waged war on the FDA and the EDA for decades.
It also backed the tea party movement.
Today they are a leading climate change denial promoter.
In 2008, the Institute made up and published a list purporting to identify "500 Scientists with Documented Doubts of Man-Made Global Warming Scares". When those scientists asked to have their names removes from the list the institute's then president, Joseph Bast, argued that the scientists "have no right—legally or ethically—to demand that their names be removed" from Heartland's list.
It is a despicable "Gun for hire" for the worst corporations operating in the US.
Normally professional - they have big money bankrolling them, this video is appalling badly scripted produced and acted.
No scientists would behave like this.

If the climate hucksters didn't look so bad they'd be much more believable. A fair amount of push back should always be done concerning matters where a group of people want to take a lot of money to supposedly solve some problem.

You can change people's minds slowly with succinct information, but when your predictions are so far out of reality it hurts your cause. I get needing famous people to forward your cause but when they go out of bounds (AOC claiming we've got 12 years), you'd look more credible if you discounted their hyperbole.

Sure, you can use grossly overstated scare tactics but some folks aren't moved by that. Try being more reasonable and believable.

There is the main problem. What you believe os based on your knowledge and we both know you are far from being an expert on any matter. You read other peoples beliefs and get confirmed.

But that won’t change the facts on any topic out there. Thats why we are in dire need for the scientific method: test, publish, review, critism, repeat. If a consensus is reached after hundreds of thousands of papers on the topic the chances are slim they are not right, even if it feels counterintuitive, even if church says the earth is 12000 years old, even if the earth feels flat, even if the temperature in your hometown is around the same as it was when you were a little kid.

In the end it does make a significant change if your body temperature is 41 or 39. The latter is a mild fever, the first means you are dead.

He makes a very good point. It proves the point of prevention and reducing risks. It's like preventive medicine. You undergo preventive diagnostics to avoid the possible disastrous result of illness and death. The money spent on that kind of medicine might be money down the drain, but if something materializes you have a huge chance to get a grip on it.

This video is old, and by now all the scientific evidence points even more to anthropogenic causes, but I know we already discussed that, and I know many in current politics are not into science. But regardless of the cause, this development still needs attention. The predictions of extreme and severe weather around the globe are already happening, and will most likely intensify.
