How Microwaving Grapes Makes Plasma

A bisected grape in the microwave makes plasma. But how does it work? A grape is the right size and refractive index to trap microwaves inside it. When you place two (or two halves) close together the fields interact with each other creating a maximum of electromagnetic energy where they touch. This creates heating, sparks, and plasma, which is further fed with energy directly by the microwaves.

Anyone notice the blatant ad placement of the Weetabix box at the end, they shouldn't do that because now I want Weekabix, which just shows the power of advertising, incidentally Weetabix is on offer at Tesco's at the moment you should buy some, bet you can't eats three.

Finally there was no warning that creating plasma in your microwave while eating your Weetabix the delicious breakfast dish, so presumably we are not going to set our kitchen on fire if we try and repeat the experiment?

#1 It's not Weetabix, it's the delicious Cheerios cereal, made from toasted oats, my favorite cereal, it comes in many other, and sugared flavors, berry Cheerios, honey-nut, multigrain...etc, but the original Version is the best, especially when you add fresh strawberries and bananas. I also sometimes like to use almond milk instead of regular milk <3

#3 Yes, of course, dear JJ, I sort of knew that. I thought maybe you use Weetabix for all cereals, like we say Kleenex for all tissues. They sell Weetabix here too now. Wondering if I should try it. :)
