Was that rollercoaster ride really necessary?
The destination is beautiful.

I‘ve been there last February and it was breathtaking. Lots and lots of chinese tourists who book all the balloon flights, take 5000 selfies on the balcony of the sultan cave suites and leave.

Göreme is a rather small town and about everyone speaks english. The prices are kind of reasonable at the moment but are going up fast every year.

If you judge turkey by this place you have the feeling the media has been lying to you for ages.

Regardless of its scenery, Turkey is a place to avoid, as long as the dictator Recep Tayyip Erdogan remains in power.

Media covers in general only a fraction of what a place, in this case, a nation, has to offer. The video in itself is beautiful.

#2 Erdogan 'lost' the capital to one of his political rivals in the city election.

#5 In three cities, Izmir, Ankara and Istanbul, his party lost to the popular CHP party, a social-democratic party. There is a change in mindset that is occurring in Turkey. Wished people would become wiser in the US too.
