What happened? Where is the rest of the video of you coming down? I'm a climber as well and that is definitely a scary and dangerous situation especially when what's keeping you heald to the tree is a rope flip line (hopefully it was a stainless core). Was your gas line or gas cap leaking for it to go up in flames that quick? Or was it just your exhaust that initially started it up top? But where is the rest of the vid lol? Hope you got down safe with minimal burns.

I went down with my climbing line set for descent. I wasn't tie in twice witch allowed me to remain calm
so he is ok!

Whoaa!!!!
#4 Perhaps but once he tossed the flaming bits to the base of the tree, that light, dead fuzz that lines the tree went up like kindling. At least that's how it appears to me. The fire may have started with the heat from the cut. Cutting horizontally keeps weight on the saw creating a lot of heat. And again, with that ultra fine kindling right there it wouldn't take an open flame to get it started. My 2 cents anyway.
Edit: #4 from you link of his personal Youtube site. In the description of the video it reads "The heat of the Muffler caused the fibers to caught fire"
