I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Who lives in which country will be the least of our problems in as little as 25-50 years. It’s hilarious that the masses are focused on these issues, brexit, etc when the planet is going to shit at an uncontrollable pace.

The real way to deal with immigration issues is to reduce the reason for people to need to move in the first place and whilst it could be opportunity or war that causes it today, what will happen when the answer is simply, we have no country to live in anymore or, our country is now uninhabitable so we’re coming to you, on mass, through brute force?

I live in Britain and I’m not suggesting there isn’t an issue that needs to be dealt with. This is more about the attention this is getting. I would argue that the level of effort going into tackling this is massively more damaging than the issue itself.

Look at the rise in percentage of people in Britain who were foriegn-born. It rises sharply after WW2 and explodes in the 1990's. The data doesn't extend back to the time of the Huguenots, but obviously it would be only a trace amount as expressed as "percentage of the population that is foreign-born". That's what matters.
You can name-call all you want, but that won't change the fact that British culture, the thing that makes Britain nice to live in, will be overwhelmed quite soon at present immigration rates. The people who are pouring in do not have the same respect of the rule of law, or of women's rights, or of democracy, as do the british. They also don't have any of the pressure to assimilate when they come in such large numbers. So all the awful things about the 3rd world can and are taking root in Britain, like crime in London, bribery, cartels/organized crime, low social trust, reduced volunteerism and altruism, etc.
The Hugeunots were white europeans who respected the same strong fair institutions that britons did. Not so of africans and syrians. They allow bribery, dictatorship and brutality to take over.
An unpleasant truth is that the quality of life in any place on earth is the result of the local culture. The people who are coming in to Britain are fleeing this awful truth, but they will inevitably bring that culture to your doorstep.

#6 Yes there has been a rise in foreign born living in the UK in the last 20 years.
Tony Blair opened the door totally to East European workers. (unlike Germany France Italy etc).
Since then nearly 4 million have made the move from eastern European countries.
These are mostly young well-educated people.
They are almost all white Caucasian and if they have a religion it is a Christian one.
Douglas Murray and his so called "Centre for Social Cohesion" uses immigration figures to demonize Muslims.
He is an enabler for right wing activists and extremists piggybacking on the Brexit fracture in Britain.
In the 3 1/2 years since the referendum, Britain has become a hateful place with steep rises in all forms of hate crime.
The likes of Murray continuously stir up trouble and provide a platform for hate speech.
The British police have stated categorically, there is a risk of terrorism in the UK and the biggest risk is from right wing extremists.

By the way, Ireland has a higher foreign born population 17% (2016 census) than the UK 14% (2018 figure) and Ireland is a very pleasant country to live in.

#6 I can understand all of what you are saying and it isn’t necessarily xenophobic, though most of this arguments are. And even if you are, that isn’t in its core the problem.

At its core the problem for me boils down to this question: How does society work without poorly educated people who are willing to do every job, even if it pays way less.

What i want to ask is what is the alternative. A small example how the world currently works, that i heard at university and it stuck. Michael jordan is a fantastic gardener, better than most working in that job. Should he train less basketball to do his own garden or ask someone inferior to do it?

We don’t invite people into our countries because we like diversity, there is no secret muslim conspiracy. Our industry wants to make more money to get a competitive edge at their foreign competitors. The higher educated (usually the white guys) get better jobs, the new arrivals get the shitty jobs. And those new ones bring their own culture and clutter in ghettos. Most adapt over the next decades or even centuries, some stay true to their own values. Actually the more they are disliked the more they stay amongst theirselves. Look at the blacks in the us how this is a superslow process if xenophobic sentiment is hindering the process.

But what is the alternative to immigration. Higher educated have to do shittier jobs, to get it done. There is too few people to take care of the huge number of elderly (something that will hit us very soon, due to medical progress and huge birthrates in the sixties) and the whole society is getting drastically poorer.

So it boils down to whether any of those hatespeekers is adressing the underlying problems or if he is willing to tell you how to solve it. Hopefully you can tell me what your solution is to the greed of the industry worldwide.

Business is a main driver of immigration.
And that is for several reasons but mainly because it provides a large pool of cheap labor to compete for jobs.
While Germany and the Nordic countries aim for prosperity through better products and services and elevating standards of living
Britain has an entrenched idea of cost-cutting for economic advantage.
Once out of the EU the UK can water down all workers protections in a race to the bottom.
Once again the biggest losers will be the poorest in society.
The sad thing is a lot of these poorest people voted for Brexit.
Johnson will say the UK has the highest level of employment ever.
That is true, But they are crap jobs with zero hours contracts, no security of employment, no paid vacation, no pensions
and no way out of the poverty trap even holding multiple zero hour contracts. Current population of the UK, 67 million. Official number of people in poverty is over 14 million, 4 million of them children and the highest rate of child obesity in Europe. The obesity is caused by lack of access to good quality food. From a report on childhood obesity in Europe: "However, recent data from the UK are of particular concern since they demonstrate an excess of overweight (19%) and obesity (7%) in 5-year-olds and highlight the need to initiate effective preventive measures even before children reach school age".
As regards the UK National Health Service. Britain spends less than Germany France or Sweden on health (as a % of GDP).
The government cut bursaries and introduced fees for nurse training so that only 32,000 applied to become nurses in the UK
There are currently 40,000 vacancies for nurses.
A large part the staff in the NHS came from Europe. Brexit will end free movement of people from Europe.
But Boris has a plan. He will scan the 3rd world countries and steal their doctors and nurses.
