I thought he was going to externally crank the engine and just use the piston to produce compression. Much cooler the way he did it.

Though completely impractical.

What a stupid thing to do for about a £10 you can buy a tyre compressor that works off the cigarette lighter in your car, what on earth did all those parts cost, and it's clearly not going to run long term without more modifications, but I guess he did answer the question. :D
