The question is how much of our beliefs have been undermined already. Is that thing we so strongly believe in, that our whole peer group deems the one and only true opinion really the right thing?

I do believe we live in an age where we are influenced more than ever before. To a huge degree without even noticing. It starts with some supermarkt product we pay a premium for even though it is in no way better than its counterpart goes over to political views and ends in the way we treat each other because of something that seems so logical and was definitely our own idea.

I wonder if at one point we will find a solution to get rid of outside influences or if our society as a whole will become a game for a few puppet masters playing all of us.

If the pay-offs are enough and the chances of getting caught are slim, you can bet it'll be done. It's a good point that you don't have to fool many, just enough.
