At #9, did you mean that had you not left Australia at the time you would have been drafted into the military and ended up in Vietnam, as Great Britain and the US were allies?

#12..Exactly that, rumour had it that if your 20th birthday fell in 1966 you might me drafted into the army and end up in Vietnam. Australia had troops in Vietnam, and it would have been my luck to draw the short straw. As for GB, they weren't allies when it came to Vietnam and never sent troops there......As for sailing the seas, I did exactly that, any stories I might tell wouldn't be suitable for Snotr readers...

#13 Of course, that's how luck ends up happening a lot. Glad to hear you were able to avoid going there and you are alive and kicking! Wondering now why they actually didn't call that another world war, as many countries as were involved in the Vietnam War, terrible, unnecessary war, like most of them. Oh, those stories would be interesting, I don't think too many kid members here, but of course you never know. Thanks for sharing.
