106-year-old WWI veteran recalls getting shelled and gassed

Orleans, Massachusetts, July 20, 2003: 106-year-old WWI veteran J. Laurence Moffitt, one of several dozen American WWI veterans Richard Rubin interviewed in the last decade for his book "The Last of the Doughboys: The Forgotten Generation and Their Forgotten World War" (coming May 21, 2013 from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), discusses getting shelled and gassed in the trenches of France in 1918.
