It's shot with tilt-shift lens which produces very narrow depth of field. This simulates optical behaviour of small objects close to the camera. You must also match playback speed so that behaviour of fluids matches those of "bathtub" circumstances. You can calculate this by matching Reynolds numbers of both flows. Before CGI this method was used to film marine battles with miniatures.
