#4 Wasn't high enough to leave the earth's atmosphere completely and no where near far enough for it to escape the power of Earth's gravity. Was very well packed - I'm amazed the camera caught it all flawlessly too in all the extremes it went through.

Bad landing..
all that open space and it had to fall on a tree.

#2 I think what we heard was the sound from camera rubbing against its casing. However since there is still air at that altitude there is a potential for the sound wave propagation as well just not as strong as in normal conditions.

#4 it is impossible to escape the Earths gravity. This is a common misconception where weightlessness is confused with the absence of gravity. Although gravity effects objects less and less the futher away they are there will always be a tiny force acting upon the object. Weightlessness is caused by the fact that you are falling at the same rate as the vessel you are in. Ojects in orbit maintain their altitude by using the centrifugal force of moving around the planet, but will eventually fall back to earth.

i just wanna know one thing. if im not mistaken when something so little as a pebble drops from that hight does it not reach such a speed that like a astroid it is red hot and could possibly make a whole where ever it drops or is that a stupid question. just curious.

I would like to know what kind of balloon this was and where to get one. Also what was the weight of the camera, could another object.... say a tiny, super annoying, barking Chihuahua owned by my sister be attached to it instead? I wont be needing the parachute either.
