The rear-view motorcycle helmet

A cool invention to give the motorcyclist a better overview, called the Reevu.

As a motorcycle rider, I would find this quite helpful.

Must be not very efficient when "mist" is in the helmet...
Bud I'd like to try, if not too expensive ;)

Ahh..British genius strikes again !

cool idea though.....i hope its works for the designers, and they get a lot of sales. It sounds as if it could be a winner.

I noticed a few comments from bikers above, what would be better i ask ...to have that extra vision or to get killed by some idiot coming up from behind ? :D

#'s 11 and 12, I thought the same thing about a rider in back. Cool though, wish I'd thought of that lol

Very Good Idea. The only problem that might have is, How well would it handle truck headlights at night. Truck headlights always seem a lot brighter and annoy me when I'm driving a car. That could be a major problem for a motorcycle rider with this helmet riding at night.

I feel like I say this every day.. Stop calling others name when you don't agree with their opinion. It only leads to people knowing that you don't have any valid arguments, and then some mod/admin comes along and removes your comment and bans you from Snotr. Discussion is allowed, but keep it civil, try and win the argument by introducing good arguments, not by calling others moron/idiot/whatever.

I check my mirrors on average once every 30 seconds, a glance takes fractions of a second. I would find this too distracting particulally at night and for what is involved $500 (£300) is too expensive

one questions...what if the person wearing it has a big head of hair. it would block the reflection of light on the mirrors. I guess you'd have to wear a bandana or something then.

I have some questions... this seems really cool but I wonder about night riding, when headlights bounce off that mirror, is it removable? Also this would apply to excessively sunny days, bright sun as we often experience here in Texas... I would think that bright sun or headlights bouncing off the mirror would be blinding and dangerous, what protects the rider from that? Otherwise, this is very cool!

#5, My composite helm was 400e and it has no extra features of any sort. Sure you can buy a $99-plastic potty, but it will only snap your neck when you crash at highway speeds. Protection doesn't come cheap...

As a motorcycle rider, I too acknowledge the problem that many before have commented. The mirror is really distracting and it even blocks your vision slightly. At least if you're riding a (super-)sport bike where you lean forward.

Very distracting , i ride a bike and the only bloody time i need to see behind me is when im overtaking or at a juntcion in which case i have side mirrors and if there set up right you can see behind you with out taking your eyes off the road for too long and if doing so dont drive like an idiot keep your speed safe ,

that mirror would take half my concentration from the road at least and cause more accidents than anything else i dont care whats behind me and if a idiot car driver finds im going too slow and over takes me ill see him in the side mirror no problem

It's an interesting idea but I wouldn't want one as shown.

Some problems that come to mind.
- Weight (to heavy).
- No retractable sunscreen/visor as is mostly standard these days and I wouldn't want to go without such feature.
- No system helmet version possible.
- Already mentioned many times the blinding effects at night.
- Expensive, I hate btw that because it adds to safety it's suppose to be a reasonable price.
