I can't believe that, someone is plowed by a 1 tonne car (give or take) and no one thinks to leg it in to help? I can't believe it took a good 30 seconds for people to run in.

Wait, the photographer only had minor injuries? How do you know? Did anyone see him get launched?!
Agreed with #14

#12, there was no fast response because during these rally races, emergency crews are only stationed at pre-determined areas of the route. They also have to wait for radio replies from those stations before the wreck to determine what other cars are nearing the kilometer mark where the accident took place. Pedestrians aren't allowed to run over the sidelines either. If you have a lot of people running on the track to help and other cars are coming at full speed, then there's going to be a bigger mess.

I always find it hard to believe when the video caption says "he survived" or "..escaped with only minor injuries".
I think that half the time they just say that to allow it to be posted on the net, as it's not socially acceptable to film people dying.

Luckiest Photographer ever?!! That's some serious BS!
I'm absolutely sure that the photographer got killed. When you get hit by a car like that and fly more than 5 meters away, you are struck by extreme forces... nobody survives that!
Actually, it's really horrible to put a video like this here, which such a headline!
May the photographer rest in peace.

FYI:
This happened during the first stage of the 2009 "Rallye du Var" in France (last November).
The pilot and copilot are the Perrin's brothers and they were driving a Renault Clio R3.
The pilot (Benjamin Perrin) could not get out of the car because he had his legs blocked and they needed assistance to get him freed. He got 2 cervical vertebra fractured while his brother had a pneumothorax.
What I read about the photograph is that he has been protected by a tree (obviously not the one which was totally broke up). Actually looking carefully at the video and comparing the position of the photograph before the crash (00:04) and the moment when the car hit the tree (00:10), we can see that both are not on the same plan. It's difficult to have a good perspective but I think that the photograph was behind the car. The tree he's standing behind is further than the one that got smashed by the car. So yes I guess he was very lucky...
