All volvos are made to survive impacting with a full grown moose at high speed. Meaning it wont crumble like a tin can if you hit 700kilos of meat at 100+ km/h.

#7 S80..? Pah..! :-)

I used to own a 1971 Volvo 144DL... It's still on the road today with over 300'000 miles on the clock with the original engine...

All these modern cars are bean cans compared to the old Volvos...

#6 actually, modern cars are supposed to "crumble like a tin can" to absorb the impact and leave the passengers zone safe, if possible... indestructability doesn't mean safety, yeah you start your engine IF you survive.

crazy jump tho ;)

I still drive a volvo 242 build in '76. :)

It has almost 290.000 km's also with the first engine.
When Volvo launched the 240 model the claimed it would be around for 16,2 years. Mine is now 32 years old. still going strong.

Volvos older car are stronger than most belives, the think is that vOLVO IS A CAR THAT WOS IN TEH EALYER DAYS BUILLED IN sWEDEN, A CONTRY THAT HAS ROUGHT WINTERS WITH TONS OF SNOW AND frost bites so they had to builled it string and large metal beans are running to the cars making them increbeltly strong last volvo we had got to a age of 35 years and a Km stand of 450.487 km pertol and still working perfecktly only thing wos a large hole in the backseat floor that sent the car to scrabmetal afterwards :'(
