#4 I guess she wants the glass bottle for a recycling plant were there maybe there getting paid for those bottle's you can see she did at least ask him and hey those bags look like sandwich bags and there clean enough when you use them to store meat in the fridge , only might be a pain if you throw your friend a coke

Ghetto? I don't think so. I've seen that in plenty enough other countries, if anything, it makes much more sense than leaving plastic bottles everywhere that never get recycled. In these countries, those bottles get used hundreds of times.
You always have the option to get it with the bottle, but that costs more. The next time you purchase a drink, you can get the drink in a bottle at no extra charge, if you exchange the now empty bottle with them. An excellent way to promote recycling if you ask me.

sure cool to promote recycling, but the deposit on bottles works good to, and it gives homeless a helping hand. Also I never eat meat raw, right out of the bag. I cook my meat to kill all of the bacteria that might have been in the bag, not just suck it all up!

Well, humans have made it so far in far worse circumstances. Remember when we were eating raw meat, living in caves? Humans are robust creatures, just like anything else. Okay.. okay, these days we're all sissies and weaklings. One global disaster is all it will take to destroy most of the population. How sad isnt that?

I highly doubt that these bags would be ridden with bacteria as there are few bacteria that eat plastic, and the bags were obviously new. In fact, I think a pretty darn good argument could be made that any plastic bag is cleaner than the cups in ours cupboards, as they were wet and had food particulates in them.
Not to be too much of a jerk, but deposits are only on glass containers, not plastic ones. The system of 1 glass bottle and 100 plastic bags puts much less crap on the ground than the 100 plastic bottles we would use. I haven't weighed them, but I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to say that 100 bags=1 plastic bottle (weight-wise) in plastic, and the bags would break down faster thanks to their much higher surface area.
I said the "promote recycling" thing in jest, as they couldn't give less of a crap about recycling. It just comes out to be cheaper to use bags. In countries like these, making the plastic packaging ends up adding a nice premium to the price of the beverage.
Case in point: In Costa Rica, this used to be pretty normal, if not the norm. Now that the average Costa Rican's income has doubled in the past 10 years, now they use the same plastic bottle system we use here.

everyone is missing the point here
WHY a plastic bag when she could give the bottle, it's not like it's from a large bottle, she empties the bottle, in the plastic bag, which makes no sense

#6 But what about the plastic bags? They clog drains, animals swallow them and suffocate. It's one problem solved while creating another one. The overall amount of plastic may be different but they have to recycle the bottles at some point and they also must produce millions of plastic bags. FYI in Africa, there is places where plastic bags make up the biggest part in environmental pollution.

#6 and #9 We have that system where u pay some extra money for bottles here in Germany(Plastic too) some are just 0,08 € some are 0,25
#12 thats why u have garbage cans everywhere
and plastic can be recycled if done right of course if everyone just throws them on the ground that system doesn't work but that would be for glass or any other packaging too

Ghetto Shit? Those people who shot the video were just the so-called taiwanese elites. Sheesh, then other people would think that it's unsanitary, but guess what you douchefags, it isn't.
Vendors do that also for the convenience of the customer. Instead of bring the glass bottle, just put it in a plastic with a straw, when you're done drinking, you just throw it away. It's that simple.
Elitists, more immature than red necks.

Yeah this is a pretty common practice in most of the countries its quite convenient you know cause you're ridding the bus drinking your coke and you can tie a knot with the straw and save it for latter, its the same with fruits, pudding like desserts and anything that you usually US and EU citizens use a styrofoam container for.

It's really common to get street food in bags from vendors in China. Indonesia as well. Some of the vendors just offer a stick from a cup that someone else has used who knows how many times before you.
They use the bags with the fizzy/soda/pop/soft drinks since they get the money back the deposit money on the bottles. Instead of them being dumped on the ground and the less appealing locals coming to collect them for money, they use the bags to reduce the trashier side of vending in this popular marketplace. It's actually a good thing in terms of sanitary utensils for anything you buy off the street carts considering how many different classes and countries of people are exposing/exposed to even these simple street samplings. A lot can be passed hand to mouth then on to a plane homebound
Cool clip.
