A charge is thrown under the bus from the far side and goes off the same time the window breacher dude hits the window with a bang stick. The window breacher then gets owned and thrown a few metres, but can be seen getting up and walking backwards off screen.

But from the looks of it, the tank would have kill off most people before the explosion ripped the bus apart! :O

Lol, well the russians arent known for there finesse. This is pretty much on par, cept dude taking a nice flight through the air, for the russians military. If you think this is bad you should see a police raid.

"hostage rescue" . . . ! ?

Well, we know how the russians handle a "hostage rescue" scenario :P

I think they were supose to use only blind bullets and fake bombs...
One of those soldiers might have took a real bomb instead of a fake one so the effect is more "realistic" :D

Im pretty sure thats not a hostage situation... Id say its more like some crims trying to get away and the ownage that would soon follow. - only saying that as i didn't see any 'hostages' get taken away... Only guys getting cuffed and put on the ground.

rescuing hostages with a machine gun hammering the bus?

#25 WTF? That video is from an Apache attack helicopter firing on armed hostiles in Iraq who had no idea they were being targeted from long distance, not hostages needing rescue. You can see at least one AK-47 and an RPG being carried by them. Sadly there were two journalists with them who were not wearing required markings and were killed also. That was a war zone where fighting was going on right up the street from that location.
Picture of Skeesicks38 achievements

+1 39. Skeesicks commented 14 years ago

By judging the way how calm they act, explosion of buses might happen very often in Khazakstan.
Picture of Facade10 achievements

-2 40. Facade commented 14 years ago

#38 get your info corrected. These "hostiles" were not firing on anyone, and the AK 47 was the Journalists camera mistaken to be a gun. That was not a hot zone by any measure. The "Hostiles" were not firing on anyone. That was NOT a hotzone.

Picture of sux2bu67 achievements

+2 42. sux2bu commented 14 years ago

#40 My info is dead-on correct. If you ever watch the entire 17 min video you will clearly see starting @ about 3:45 two men with AK-47's and one with a RPG walking down the street. They are not shooting because they think no one has seen them, but fighting had just been taking place a couple of blocks away and they were probably involved in it. The insurgents do not wear uniforms and look like any other person on the street until they pull out their weapon and kill you.
Those journalists were supposed to be wearing identifiable markings so as not to be shot-at but they were not doing so.

Picture of Facade10 achievements

-2 45. Facade commented 14 years ago

#42 as you said so in your own words "PROBABLY". Also, the military has itself acknowledged that the journalist's camera was mistaken for an RPG. Please do not defend the abominable act, as that only highlights inhumanity, and that is what brews hatred for our country around the world.

in some parts of the usa nearly everyone has a weapon, so they all are possible threats. please ask Hanzlik why they are not shot at with an apache :)
Picture of Facade10 achievements

-2 47. Facade commented 14 years ago

new rule of engagement: Kill first ask questions later.
At the risk of being redundant, these guys were POTENTIALLY a threat. Not to mention the children. What if these guys were also trying to protect them selves from the islamic militants. We possibly turned them against us. Next time they leave the houses guess who they'll be aiming for. When it comes to convicts, we go all out to protest against the death penalty. When it comes to "potential" threats that include children, we don't miss a beat to press the trigger. Wonder why the world hates us?
Picture of Protreptic13 achievements

With great power comes great responsibility. I wont second guess the actions taken by the pilot and gunner but if they were people trying to get out of the war zone who had the missfortune of arming themselves and being seen with those arms then im sure there families would have been more than happy, post conflict, to assist in the insurgency that has claimed so many American lives.

You reap what you sow. If better judgement had been employed with the use of your superior technology during the initial conflict then the post action clean up might not have taken as long as it has.

Lessons learned? Probably not.

Picture of Protreptic13 achievements

Open your eyes everyone - that is an assault not a hostage rescue. One vehicle cut the bus off and another carrying the assault team was chasing. All targets were either stunned and captured or killed.

Not sure what the scenario was - perhaps someone can translate and tell us why the targets were using a bus - probably just a cheap vehicle for demo purposes.

i wasn't counting good vs bad ppl, but all human beings present and is less over 100 (guests 'bout 40 at the beginin' by the left side of cam' man; the action fellows around 45 showing driving skills for everything elses but people transportation, tab worries not of its own brakes and heads for the truck driver who eventually stops 1st (cargo nowadays could become automated, as in cargo shippin), lil snipe trainin, resque and medical, very poor at karate (switching few often from duckin to standin, btw); plus all comments made here again on the other advertised site, a total of under 200 males less' than more' than 20-2-50 yrs, and preparing to enter the weekend. I think snot is becoming misogini'stique;)) yet I couldn't face more kitties and pupppies and parrots and bunjie jumpin, this weekend:)) max.

#55 I think this link is a much better comparison to how Russians "rescue" hostages than the link you keep harping on. One is a botched rescue with scores of deaths and the other is action in a combat zone, see the difference?
