Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD... Something tells me all that ink in the newspaper can't possibly be good for you. :S

Yeah my grandma showed me this trick. Actually if u have an electric cooker, you can put it directly on it, the paper is not burning because the egg absorbs the heat. #5 is right, the inc from that paper is poisonos. It hsould bemade with a clear chemically untreated paper.

Ink in newspaper contains lead is it? Lead is extremely poisonous :S

Newspaper ink today no longer carries the toxic threat it once did, ie Lead content. That was banned in 1985. Drinking neat newspaper ink would be very stupid and dangerous, but once the ink is dry it becopmes stable and the toxins (oil based substances) would have evaporated.
Thus, it is quite safe to eat the fried egg :D

#9 Most of the time newspapers are printed with Mineral Oil Ink... They used to use inks that contained lead, but not anymore... Some books at some libraries may still have books that contain lead ink...
