Compare yourselves:if you take lightning you search and find the fenomenon behind it, while the religion just says it's a "miracle" and that god made it(god's wrath or some crp like that)and there are thouzands of other cases like that 1. Sure there are many things that science did not discovered yet and it might never will but c'mon, you come and tell me that an "invisible man/woman" made it all just the way it is and that he is judjing all of us on what we do, that's just a lot of bull, at least for me. rate me down do whatever you want but you can't change the fact that religion is a big lie (maybe the biggest in history mainly cuz it still going on today)that was ment to make some people powerfull(by richness or popularity), just try to see the big picture, most of the truth atleast, about religion and all that happend cuz of it, you'll know what i mean.
ps:science mostly explains the things they discover so i'd rather belive in the humankind(wich represents not only shamefull things but very good ones too; the past the present and also the future)), not in an invisible almighty guy wich people prais so much cuz of all that happend in the past(leaving aside that he has no "direct" influence in the present or future)
what i say might be boring but it's the truth, not my truth but the truth inside all of us. some people are just to darn blind to see it

Blindness is treading on another persons faith..sometimes faith in god(no matter which one) helps those that arnt as strong as you..Some of us need god to cope with these hard times..So why does everyone want to discredit religion..It makes people happy and willing to progress knowing that mabye someone is on there side..What people need to stop doing is pointing there finger and each other and start looking at themselves..The bible gives good guidlines on how to love and serve your fellow brother and sisters..Peace and love, why would someone argue that..Dont distort the message and try to write it all off..If it helps the world then let it..

at #(removed comment) because you see thinks from another perspective doesn't mean that it's truth. I'm sorry to disapoint you but most thinks will go circle. That's quite geniusly made. It can only be set up by some kind of intelligent design. My point is it's hard for a world that made itself to be so perfectly made. There must be some creater in my idea. And of course it's easy to say that if some things are unexplainable to say it's god. But that doesn't mean that it can't be. Science is just a word that we have given to some development of mankind. But to say that all organism's have created thereself is a faith. There is a big difference that they try to keep small ,but wich is in fact really big. I believe in the science as in some development of mankind and in God as creator.

But what they are failing to discuss is the SCIENCE of the unseen displayed in mind control, vibrational energy, molecular structures, particles and matter in their relation to the MEASURABLE energy of INTENTION from living beings and most importantly the effect that human actions and thought patterns have on physical matter and the dimensions.

Actually, Science doesn't contradict religion, but confirms it.
Quran speaks about the common origin of the universe known as the big bang.
The geospherical shape of the earth as we know it today.
The fact that the sun is not stationary.
There's more here

No it does not insult religious people, it just points out some facts.

You should read what etheism really is. You are the one insulting here.
Personally it's clear to me that religion is just a very old way of mind-control.
#(removed comment)
Sigh, don't try to push religion to people who have their eyes open.
#20
I understand someone on death row to be religious but the rest of us should just accept that we just don't know if and if so what there might be after death. Just live instead of preparing for death.
#21
You clearly have no idea how big the universe is and how many galaxies, stars and planets there are. Even if the chance seems very small that we came to be it still is a very big number.
#24
No it does not. It's like the movie "The Number 23". If you want to see things a certain way you will see it that way.
BTW I can't believe you actually linked to that ridiculous clip of nonsense.
#25
Faith in what?
(Faith: Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.)

Mr #21 let me tell you something that you will agree with:
some people that have suffered seek comfort,
some people that want to get somewhere in life seek hope,
some people that suffered need to blame someone.
Since other people can only do as much as a human can do and can't really give the true comfort, hope, revenge and other weird stuff that humans need(the human is not perfect, it has it's flaws like everything in this universe) they decided to make a story with an almighty person that has a "PLAN", that way people will suffer less, will hope more and they have someone to blame for their misfortune. Throw at that the side that all the mistery of this world (mystery that will be explained by some people as the almighty's creation)and bam you got any god from any religion in in every human's hearth. Well almost every human, i prefere to be rational: i don't hope for better i make it my self by working hard and giving my best, i don't suffer i get over it like everyone should and i don't seek revenge on anyone because i don't think they worth the time i could invest in makeing my life better(well except in a game...if some1 kills me there i will hedshot him till he get's bored stops his pc n gets outside the friking house ^_^)
so mate ill let you be the judje: if you prefer to keep beliving and hope it will all get better or stuff like that or you start doing what i do and get ur arze moving...remember time doesn't wait for you, you will die eventually(so don't waste your time and make the most of your life)
thumbs up pls if you think i'm almost right(i can't be 100% acurate now can i? o.0)
and
pls pls pls thumbs down if i'm wrong and BOOOOOOORINGGGGGGGG (^_^)

Oh, my God, another BS science verses religion perpetrated on the public. However, science deserves skepticism, admitting mistakes does not confirm the validity of future scientific “facts”.
The most useful tools and equipment that we use in our everyday lives came from the imagination of ordinary people that applied common sense, effort; trial and error, effort, and more effort to make something that make their and our lives easier and more productive. The US Patent office has a very difficult time determining if patent applied for today is actually new or just an improvement over something that was invented before the 19th century.
Religion that is a belief that is decided by an individual as is their view of "science". As far as religion goes, this much I can tell you, I was on a plane at 30,000 feet many years ago and when it filled up with smoke there was not a person on board who was an atheist.

Religion has very little to do with God. Religion is corrupt and has become polluted. It has lost its true meaning. It has been poisoned by Mankind to control us through fear, and to make financial profit. Forget the religions of the World, view them with mistrust. GOD, on the other hand is the energy which makes the Earth turn, our plants grow, out hearts beat and our minds imagine and wonder. It makes perfect scientific sense to believe in GOD. Please don't associate GOD with religion. They are not the same thing. Besides, who do you think created Science?

41. fjwjr commented 13 years ago
Of course almost all of the discoveries listed here were before science started getting politicized. And that's where the error of this video comes into play. It's not science vs religion. It's science vs politics (which funds and therefore influences a lot of science, take global warming scandals for example)

42. Denaro commented 13 years ago
Everyone should just stfu and respect the fact that people don't share the same views as yourself. There is no need for you to impose your will on them. I'm a sworn atheist but what makes my opinion more valid than someone who is religious? nothing. So save the petty argument that leads no where.

44. defade commented 13 years ago
Science vs religion is a futile argument. You can't use one to argue against the other by their very nature. Religious nuts who claim that the limits of science undermine everything that science has achieved are idiots. Pigheaded atheists who mock religion because of its limitations are sometimes equally idiotic.
Know the limits of your own belief system and don't judge that of others.
BTW I'm an atheist.

At #41, try being agnostic, its relatively freeing to be able to accept that you don't HAVE to have an answer. Sooner or later the truth will come out with the wash, but let's face it, there's only one of these arguments that actively uses itself to impose restrictions on the way people think and act based on nothing but bullshit, and it sure as hell isn't science.

Blanket statement much? There are a-holes of every persuasion - I had an atheist harp on me for a number of years trying to force his beliefs on me.
Nobody is ever going to argue someone into an opposing belief, so to make the greatest impact on those around you, just be an example. If people want to know what it is that makes you so happy, centered, or whatever you're getting out of your beliefs, they'll ASK if they're open to it!

What The Fuck?
Shiny colors.
Retarded crossovers.
And the guy sounds like he is talking to someone either retarded or a child.
Far from a serious movie about the progress of science.
Who is this movie even aimed for? The only target group I can think of is 5 year old kids raised in a closed christian sect now forced to live in society.
Also, the thing about science: It won't hate you for not believing in it. It will just be there anyway.

I can deargumentate any argument you have why there is a God.
For example the argument that someone must have created the earth as it is to sophisticated, to precise, to perfect.
Well, read a book. Earth as we know it now is not how it was 1000000 years ago. It is a long lasting evolutionary proccess. Plants adjusted themselves to the birds to spread their seeds. Fish grew legs because the water dried up. Monkeys started to climb trees because the tree was growing the food higher and higher to protect itself.
But you know, in the end it is just what you choose to believe. Eventho the above are facts. You can still believe someone guided it.
I don't believe in a god. But if you do, God bless ya.

Religion gives us the Inquisition, Science the atomic bomb,
whats bad at the end is the man, bad scientist bad religion person, we are all people and animals at the same time...
God = omnipotent .. meaning can do anything...well
If god is omnipotent make a rock so huge so huge that you cant lift,...what you cant do a rock huge enough... then you are not God, well if he make a rock so huge that he/she cant lift then is not God cuz God can do anything right...
Science gives us answers little by little but religion will always stay in the same statement... i prefer to evolve over time and so humanity...
Peace...

If you are poor and alone and sick the church says "God is testing you! Believe in him"
My doctor says "take this pill and go back to work".
I can believe I have food on my plate all I want...but I rather put it there myself than pray for it.
All Gods are made up by humans...the Bible is written by humans ! All stories and fairy tales.
I'm sorry but this has got to stop... The Easter bunny, Santa Claws or Tooth Fairy are for children... and they get over them...why can't you get over God...he is fictive just like the rest
The priest at my church said animals have no soul... I almost spit in his face...and God help me (no pun intended) if people I knew weren't there I would have kicked his holly ass !

humorous video anyways even if it is a bit too condescending and covers a very stupid (or a normal one taken way too far or misunderstood) 'argument/statement'.

Here is a crash course in the realm of logic:
Making it seem like a person is making an argument, then showing how that argument is flawed may seem very witty, but it doesn't prove anything.
Here is an example using the same flawed logic to make an attempt to support Christianity and discredit Scientists:
Many scientists say that Christianity has killed millions of people. Christianity doesn't kill anyone. People kill people.
I didn't prove that any scientist make that claim.
So, debunking the claim that no one made using common sense makes me look smart, you feel smart, and them look dumb, but it's not at all logical because I'm arguing against an obviously wrong point that no one is actually making.
Also, saying science invented things is like saying the thought of gravity prevents us from floating away. It doesn't. The gravity itself does. People invent things not science. It's like a path. Only the traveler accomplishes something, and more often than not the travelers have accomplished the most by straying off the path.
