#12 you can make your own reactable using a regular webcam, tuio pure data and reactivision.
It takes a lot of time building and programming it, but it works perfectly, just like shown here.

this is great except you can't reproduce the same thing again, or it would be very hard. Its great for making stuff up on the spot, but would be rather unreliable for concerts where you would need to produce the same song over and over again.
Though, it would allow anyone to produce great music, i like the sound of that

Kill for one of these is right. Would be so cool to set one of these up right in the center of a room or a field somewhere.... so the focus of the party is more natural. On the PEOPLE where it belongs.
Not on a bunch of kids screaming at someone on top of a 15 foot high stage. And sure, those other progams are functional, but how to beat this for a live PA or whatnot?! I would rather hear something original over a sequence of already published trax any day of the week (ie Prototype 909, etc) Very cool stuff. Although at that price, I doubt I'll ever actually see on in action.... :/

There is a software that simulates a surface like this for Linux, it's called Psychosynth, it's in sort of an alpha but it works marvels. I managed to make something almost good in five tries, and my only experience is with Hip Hop eJay 4.
