well maybe they use trimmings in usa, but not in my country. Once my sister found chicken claw in hot dog, now every time she see hot dog her face is green.

I prefer the all-beef hotdogs, but some mustard will make any type taste good. :P
Smithfield/Gwaltney has a hotdog factory near where I live and I took the tour thru the facility once a few years ago. They really make them fast.

The first time I saw this, I was eating hotdogs.

I actually greatly respect Hotdogs. It would be a tremendous waste of edible food if we didn't make hotdogs.

Yeah they are Left overs from actual butcher shops... I agree too I have a lot more respect for them now I thought the process was way easier than this... but it's amazing how complex it is adding flavor in every step. Cool video

Actually this is all OK and nothing terrible, I would eat this no prob. But these are how expensive ones are made. There are cheaper hotdog sausages. If you read the label it says, skin emulsion. Thats chicken skins minced in to a paste, and mechanically extracted meat. This is even more interesting. They use bones with tiny bits of meat and make this into a bone paste, which is almost grey. Then they add flavorings, colorings, and some E621,and here we have it! They use all kinds of leftovers for these hotdog sausages. Go to a local supermaket pick the cheapest ones and read the label. than google it. MIND BLOWN.

The german politician Bismarck once said:
"The less people know about how laws and sausages are made the better they sleep."

I like it when he said the machine removed 700 casings per minute, and then says that some guy has to inspect them. Wouldn't that kind of lead to a bottleneck? :D

A finished burger, hotdog or steak are bodyparts of animals. We dont mind eating cow muscle or pig ass but when we eat chicken skin in a hot dog it´s horrible but not if it´s on a nugget. ;) We are primates :(|) with teeth for both meat and vegetables. And as long as hoofs, claws and snouts don´t make me sick (As in sick sick :D ) ill have a hot dog. Unfortunately there is no sausage culture here, "hotdogs" are mostly flower so I avoid them mostly because they taste like nothing. And I don´t mind if hungry people eat dogs, cats and horses as long as they execute them painlessly. (But don´t touch my cat!) Holy cow that was a long text :O
