I'd say it's a definite fake... if you watch the movements of some of the planes (and the lines required) they look impossible. And notice how they didn't show them completing the technical bits (i.e. detil in the eyes, the feathers/wings and cursive writing). Also the image is static, i highly doubt there was not winds at that height.

i dont know much at all about that macromedia flash maker thing, but id imagine it wouldnt be hard to just draw a few white lines behind a plane in frames, if its real, then its impressive thats for sure ( for the french anyway :(|) )

This is not fake. Only the best of the best among air force pilots are recruited to fly in these kind of squadrons (aerial stunts, I don't know the exact term in english). Anyway these guys are capable of the most amazing maneauvers in extreme situations where the slightest mistake can cause your death or your comrades. When I took tests to join the air force I had the privilege of flying with a former "stunt squadron" pilot and if I told some of the stories he told me you would see how this is "not that difficult" to do.

The point that some people brought up regarding the smoke not drifting away, I can only think of one thing. They were flying with perfect weather conditions. It's rare but it happens and if you notice they seem to be doing it on a low altitude... I'd say about 1000/1500 feet.

L M MOTHER F A O @ #8 and anyone who thumbs him up..... That's like having the U.S. air force having an anniversary for mickey mouse or bugs bunny or something and risking 8 Pilots lives for some stupid shit.... (not that they haven't)

But It's obviously fuckin fake man plus I don't know who in their right minds would want to be in charge of a mission like this, haven't any of you seen all those air shows with planes crashing into each other or crashing onto the ground???? These fighter jets are meant for fucking WAR not to put smiles on people's faces....

and just to give you a taste of what I'm talking about... Most of you know the group called BLUE ANGELS right? U.s. Navy Aerobatics team?? 26 Members have died during training or shows.... that's just a small number... my comments tend to be a little longer than most but I'm sure those of you who like knowledge will read them. The rest of you: blue pill. (Matrix)

People people.. it is not possible it is a cartoon anniversary. :) can't believe this discussion is taking place.
1. they fly alphajet planes not su-37 or saab grippen. it can't make handbrake turns:)
2. instructor tells them what the plan is .. they think about it .. and go fly a perfect asterix
3. even if you had an a su-37 or f-22 you could make eyelids after a 2 month practice but the iris of the eye LOL:)
i'm not sure that even much slower extra300 or edge540 planes could make the half of this image
or simply watch their current show to see what their capabilities are

Take a screenshot of 1:33 then of 2:01 and compare them. The clouds did not move an inch. It's as clear a fake as it's true that people landed on the moon.

#11 you forgot to mention the fact that all the footage filmed from inside the plane shows them flying in a group (V formation) but when you see the drawing they are all over the place coming from all directions.

Can't believe nobody noticed that...dead giveaway!

The "Patrouille de France" is NOT a bunch of pilots trained for war, they are the acrobatic demonstration team of the french air force.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrouille_de_France

However, you are all right, the video is "real", but a few special effects were used for the final drawing.

#16 In war, French are much like Italians... It's better to fight against then have them as allies... pure facts...

This is actually 100% real. The French airforce use stunt pilots to draw a white flag or a "we surrender" sign in times of war.
