@9: Some parents protect their kids from all possible risks and scary things. Most parents know what their kids are capable of, even before the kids know. I bet your parents would NEVER, EVER be so irresponsible as to let you try something as risky as jumping into a swimming hole from a rope.
I'm so grateful to my parents for being as *irresponsible* when I was a kid as the parents in this video. I had a fantastic childhood (late 1950's-60's). They let me try all kinds of crazy, scary fun things, some of which kind of hurt. If I wanted to try something fun that the bigger kids were doing, but was too scared to have a go, they would be right there the first time, encouraging me, teaching me how not to get hurt, and ready to jump in just in case. Of course, I did the same for my kids when they were growing up.
There's nothing wrong with these parents. The kid is wearing a flotation vest. I bet he's been in that swimming hole many times before. They're standing right there just in case. And like all good parents throughout the world, they aren't raising any pussies.
@8: Why should it hurt? It's water. Have you never jumped head first into water?

@8 and @11 Head first CAN hurt if you jump from somthing high into the water but the kid in the video won't feel that. That's not gonna hurt! Just don't be to protective and to "loose" with kids...That's the way to go. But the question is. Where are the boundaries...Sorry for my english if it isnt correct but i hope you get the point. Aight?

@13: Your English will do just fine. I wish I could speak Spanish as well as you speak English.
