Alright! I am going to plant trees so that lady start hanging money on them so that i can harvest my fruits.

i would have been the lurker behind the fence waiting for these guys to finish putting them all in the tree so i could snag them before anyone else.

Until i got my mortgage, 1 dollar didn't feel like much, i'd throw money at computer games, and gadgets, now every dollar counts i think thats why most people wouldn't take it, its only a dollar, its like finding a dollar on the street, how many would actually pick it up?

I can understand why people are not looking at this tree. They probably think it's fake money with the white sticker on it. They don't think someone would put some real money on a tree.
And I don't look at all the trees when walking in the street. People just don't want to waste their time.
That's just my guess.

If I were walking down the street and saw money clipped to a tree I would just figure someone had a reason to put it there and since it was not mine I would not take any. The little notes were a nice touch.

I cant find the one in the UK but years ago some guy threw £15000 out a office windows on to a busy street (which can cause people to run accross road) and was arrested.

As nice an idea as it seems if you want to give money away like that and keep it in your area find a homeless charity or soup kitchen and give it to them.

Anyone notice that this looked like a upper-middle class area? I didn't see anyone that looked like they actually NEEDED the money real bad. Try the same experiment in a poorer area and then compare.
