Yay, lets just get hundreds of these driving around on our streets. Each scan gives us a safe radiation dose from the xray, but several times a day over a several months might start to have health implications.

Not to mention the face that you get pretty much naked pictures of passerbys. I don't fancy being scanned by these without my consent.

-And following, we introduce the .....

That would be illegal in the US. Not that such a trivial concern would stop some from using it.

Like the first commenter, I'm not fond of the radiation exposure implications.

“and by using AS&E's Image Analysis Tools, they can manipulate, enhance and save these images” or "If we can't find enough real threats, we'll "Photoshop" a few to justify our funding".

Lol USA, for all your supposed 'freedoms' and 'rights', you're all so shit scared of terrorists you allow your government to trample over them all. Oh, except for your right to bear arms, which is the right that really should be taken away from you trigger happy lunatics.

We need to think up ways to F*** with these things. Maybe a couple of store mannequins in obscene positions hidden in your car. Or cardboard and tinfoil in the shape of a rocket.

So they're just bombing everyone with x-ray radiation!?

Manipulation om the scans!?

Seems to be made for the next gen Americans looking at the dummy proof buttons to operate.

If that wasn't bad enough, it also runs on windows!

I doubt you will ever see one of these vans cruising thru your local town or village unless a threat has been made. This technology has been in use for many years,Singapore started using it at their cargo/container ports in 2003. Bulgaria uses AS&E backscatter at border checkpoints , as does many African countries. NATO has also bought some of them.It isn't anything new and it is very effective at finding contraband hidden in cargo containers. Many airports are using them instead of body pat-downs;Heathrow and Manchester airports in the United Kingdom for example. They are in use in Abu Dhabi, and many other Middle Eastern countries and in Latin America.Hong Kong uses AS&E x-ray equipment too.
And for the wise guys that want to "F*** with these things",just put a play gun under your jacket and go have fun at your local airport, then the "fun" will begin.

#14 yea, where all just a bunch of damn loonies.

The citizens are not afraid of terrorists. We are armed and can take care of ourselves. Its the government thats afraid. They say they are doing this in OUR name. They never asked us if we were afraid of anything. They told us we were afraid. :|

The fascist government claims to have 500 on the streets now. Going by the known honesty of the government, this means they probably have 5000 of these vans spying on us.
