Yeah, so remember to talk to everyone at the beach before leaving stuff unattended. Hopefully people won't think you're crazy for talking to everyone! 8-)

After watching the video posted yesterday on snotr called "Bystander Effect", I went on youtube and searched for more "Bystander Effect" videos, and this video came up.

It looks like I wasn't the only one. :P

The moral: always engage in conversations with hot single blonds at the beach! :D

They could do make it more interesting if they had a guy Grope a women.
I would love to see how people would react to that.

I believe there also a factor of how confident the robber is. Int this 0:52 instance he is calm but in this one 3:07 he obviously looks guilty.
Conclusion: they should test it with the above mentioned factor as a constant otherwise you can't really draw a conclusion based only on the factors they tested for in the video.

Next time all the people that did respond won't anymore. Just because it'll probably one of these stupid "experiments" or rather deceptions. Who wants to be a guinea pig?

#3 dont be surprized...during next days some other social experiments might show up. Thats what many users do..a vid shows up and people go to youtube and submit all similar vids they find. Dancing kid shows up..10 other dancing kid videos get submitted..a social experiment shows up..a flood of others follow. When they are good..all we can do is to put a few different vids inbetween..so you guys dont complain that much.

To the vid..same as the bystander effect..if nobody talks to me..i wouldnt notice who does what..so many people around..i wouldnt notice who does what and why..no danger there and when im reading a book..i read it..and dont watch for all other peoples stuff. One simple "hello" could change everything =)

Perhaps these vids will encourage bystanders to become involved, and perhaps they will simply encourage thieves and abductors to be bolder.

@5: Go to any major U.S. airport and watch TSA creeps "just doing their job", and doing it especially thoroughly with young women, children and other likely terrorists.

Highly educative video. More videos like that are needed. Shows how human mind works and it's quite interesting.

I wonder did they do each test once or a bunch of times. You would have to do each around 100 times to get a scientifically acceptable result.
If you only do it once you are testing your test subject rather than the test method.

I don't see how people can draw a conclusion from this. I mean, they showed us 1 time where people didn't do crap. Who knows if that is what happened the most?

Its taken out of the context. Clearly the guy at 03:45 would have gone after the thief no matter what.
