AH!!! I Knew the process must be going in the way it's shown. I always wondered. First i tought there would be 100's of burners burning the data on the discs but it isnt. It's molded right? I just got it confirmed right now. Thanks snotr for taking away this litle bit of uncertainty!

Yeah, that's all great, but I wanna learn about modern technology, like the VHS, or even better, the Betamax.

Dual-layer pressed DVD's are made in much the same way, though there are two molded layers stuck together. The coating on the bottom-most layer is semi-transparent so that adjusting the laser focus allows signal from the top-most layer to be read.

Our grandsons probably will laugh at the fact that we used this physical media for storing music, movies and games.
