The half bald dude on the left standing next to this inferno looked almost like he wanted to touch it
I would be imagining the worst and keep my distance in case some kind of a bolt got loose and did a final destination on my face

#2 he is not deaf..thanks to his engine-ears (pun..tihi)
Im not a bis car specialist..but arent the flames on the exhaust fail ignitions and the gas/air mix gets ignited by the exhaust not inside the engine? I heared that on a prosche race..each time they switched gears a fail ignition occured wich made a flame come out the exhaust with a POW..not sure..but they maybe got to recalibrate this engine

RPM's are so high it sounds like an compressed air tool.

Forget about lavalamps or night lights, i want one of these in my room! Give it a blast on the throttle and watch it glow all night!

handy if you don't have a lighter to ignite your cigarette ;-)
Incredible if you think that they get about 1000hp out of 3000cm^3

But I dont think I don't want to know the consumption on 100 KM!

@12 it should be better attuned if the car is fully assembled.

#4 Here is how NASCAR engines are tested, and they go 500 miles at close to their highest RPM with no slow-downs for tight corners and speeds of over 200mph on the bigger tracks. It is a different type of racing entirely with close quarter action and 3-wide in the turns. Smell the race gas!

#19 F1 is all about acceleration, Nascar is about top speed. The engines are not comparable in any way. The throttle response in a nascar engine is nowhere near this, while the f1 engine will explode when driven in a (very) long straight at high rpm.
Each is superior than the other in it's own way.

#19 you couldn't be more right, to each to its own.
#2 I think he has some sort of in-ear plugs, one could not stand that close without trying to tamper the sound it hurts too much, even if you're deaf.
and #12 I think you're right, but since this is a test of the engine they are probably doing some extreme stuff so to find out how far it can go, so maybe those flames you mentioned shouldn't happen during a race or at least not so often.
