It seems only making noise and heating some metal. Otherwise how can it not push the weak metal construction it's attached on.

#2 Not much , also I've seen many of these so called turbo jets , while they are impressive there made from car turbos and they are not designed to spin at such high rev's and will only ever function as a toy . They will fire it up a few times like they did there and the bearings will be destroyed and you can kiss your mini turbine goodbye.

O.K. soooooo what was in the bucket under the thing? Was that fuel? An open container of fuel two feet from all that glowing metal and fire? or was that something else?
