LOL - that was pretty slick!

The finish on the surface of the table is pretty flat, but you can see at 1:57 that there's some kind of seam/interruption of the surface in line with that inset. If not for the windows in the background casting some glare on the table, it would be harder to see.

Now, as far as whatever mechanism they have installed that is opening to his front/closing behind him, or however THAT works, I can't really tell. I've got to think on this one and watch it on something better than my netbook lol.

Another thought - maybe it's something along the lines of a high tech roller shade? He works his way into the middle of it, and stays in the hole while moving forward slowly with it. If you notice at the end, he takes the jacket off and covers himself from the front before he leaves the light colored inset.

Staged or not it's still creative and entertaining. Half the stuff you see in movies is staged or computer generated. It's the wonderment of it all. It alters our perception of what we have come to believe in. And that alone is worth the price of admission. :)

I figured out the trick. There's actually two midgets in his body connected together using a strong magnet.

It's so obvious! It's Japan and he's a robot. I've seen him on other videos on this site!

Seems like the white stripe in the middle isn't very solid as he tries to hide the edges around his middle so that you don't see that it is just some fabric. So the roller shade thing #4 mentions. The hard part is getting in and out of the mechanism. Also wouldn't surprise me if there is a second and/or third person involved hidden away in the side(s) of the table, a few Japanese girls easily fit but that isn't necessary.

there was a camera behind him at 1:51... and why didn't they show that angle? Also those two little (i think steel) lines in the table at 1:59 seem a bit suspicious...
I used to be into all that kinda magic stuff and i learned some pretty good illusions...that's why i'm very skeptic about this video... i'm just saying...
