anyone got any idea why the japanese are like 200 years in front of the rest of the planet where technology is concerned.
amazing invention, i'm sure if people can afford to pay for it, it will help countless thousands.

#3, actually they are not. They just build stuff the others could, but don't bother. It actually isn't that difficult, most japanese robotic solutions could be implemented by a class of 20 physics, engineers and software developers, in half the time it took them to do it. All they have is an initiative and funding.

p.s. Mass production of robot "units" from cyberdyne? The future is coming true...

Similar suits are made in other places: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-IxnwLTvao.
However I truly like the sexy Japanese style with all the lights and very compact design - not bulky at all unlike other ones.
Also quite a great achievement in making right drivers for detecting the nerve signals. IMHO this is the direction of cybernetic bodies or at least limbs of the future.

#1 and #4 ... no there is not gonna be a world domination of robots, people always think shit like the terminator will happen, its impossible, robots cant think, therefore it wont happen, for example, u wont see these rehabilitation robots out of nowhere just say to themselves "hey, lets start killing humans and make more copies of ourselves", that type of decision requires thought and knowledge, and robots have neither, they are just programmed to a specific function, and they stick to it

weight lifting support is mindless because man who cant lift up 40kg is NOT a man, but the support for paralized people is very useful

looks like a human being will be just a "ghost in the shell" in the future...

#9 The mistake of humans some day I'm afraid will be the gift of thought to the robots. I am truly convinced that some day they will get that sophisticated that they will be able to make up their own mind. But hell...Who knows?
Anyway, I am truly surprised every time I see a new invention from the land of the rising sun :D
They're really really incredible people.
Oh yes, and #4: Americans bother to make robots as well, they just use them for the military applications. Don't whine that anybody can do this, because that's not true.

It is the beginning of TRON !! Seriously, I want to see those suits ''tuned up'' to be used as ''competition'' suits !! I even could do Parkour with that suit !! :)

They are spending the money in this kind of stuff unlike others who spend it on designing better weapons but at the end these are technology enhance tools so its up to anyone to decide its use.

Well, folks. Check out these videos:"Shift happens". And "Dr. Michio Kaku on Learning from Outer Space" where it's clearly established we are becoming type one sivilization. Kaku explains in detail what it means. And clearly shift will happen most likely sooner than we think. Also this may interest some: "100YSS" witch is truly something I personally didn't expect to see even initiated in my lifetime.
