The company that owns the gate should account for this and should have to pay for the damages, more like a toll gate fail than a tow truck fail.

I knew those beams were strong enough to hold a hitting truck but to lift a car?

I worked for same Company, The Patrol in the Van actually asked the security Guard was it OK to tow the car out as he was aware of the bollards.
He was told it would be fine and there was sensors that would keep them down until both vehicles passed.

Why is there a passenger in the car that's being towed?
Picture of stepanstas29 achievements

Its because of the way the car is being towed. The distance between them is too great. So the sensor thinks of it as two separate cars.

These steel things are placed around city centers, so they can close the whole city down, if needed. not even a tank can down those. 7Tons of force is under those things. also used when a bank is robbed, no way for any getaway vehicle to escape. Emergency vehicles have a button to open the gates.
