Hahaha look at 3:45. They draw it in such way you should assume he flew a certain distant in a horizontal direction from the cliff. Then he stops at an instant and fals straight down. Reaching 107 meters. Best explanations ever :D

well #7 they are measuring only the vertical distance. hence the vertical line from the same height of where he dropped off to where he landed...

if they would measure the distanced he traveld in air before getting burried in snow, then yes, we should make an A$$ out of U and ME ;). that is to assume ofcourse
