At no point do they actually tell you what a "memristor" is or how it works. And I would love to know where they got the 4 elements thing from.
Sounds cool, but there is so little info you must wonder if it really exists, and if so what it actually does.
Also, you cant combine memory and storage they do a different job.

#7 i think memory and storage can be combined mate as the storage and memory are seperate as the storage cant work fast enough to be useful in a working enviroment and the working memory isnt large enough to work as a storage enviroment so what theyve put together is working memory thats large enough to store everything you need i think this is how i understand it anyway though feel free to correct me if im wrong also a point to mention current ram memory needs constant power to hold info where a hard drive doesnt and basically theyve come up with something to jump these hurdles

I read about it a while ago in a Science article.
It should be a chip able to safe its state, when electricity is turned of, and work from the ending point, ones started again. That means no boot on computer, because it just go from where you left it. (Theoretically) there must be many problems to solve to get to this state. But there's no doubt we will get a hell of a lot faster computers and electronics ones this technology is able for use

#(removed comment), it actually makes perfect sense if you have a tiny bit of background knowledge. Perhaps you could look for that info if you are interested, rather than complaining that a 2 minute video doesn't provide you with complete enlightenment.

Wow, are we still this gullible?? "As they are walking around, they are sampling the environment themselves"- like spying on everyone at once, hmm? Why is it that they start with some outlandish claim of a fourth, "missing" circuitry element and then fly into nanodevices that can collect... harmless data everywhere as people act as the nodes for that collection...

#16 SSD uses NAND Flash which are transistors acting as switches , memrister is simply put it a Resistor that changes its value depending on how much current you put threw it , there for making it already memmory

In simple terms not only can it change its state but it can store information where one transistor holds either a 0 or a 1(on off open closed what ever you want to call it) , a memrisister can do the same but with resistance and as its nano tech its smaller , if they can perfect it and make it work they can be as fast as computer RAM and hold gigabits per cm3. Some on correct me if im wrong also as far as i can tell thats how they work.

exceptionally bad scientific report, as was stated before, this is just the introduction to the paper, there are no methods mentionend, no tech revealed, and no materials mentioned.
data storage on an atomic level is no new idea and will be realized one way or another. details can be googled with ease...

#8 you see the whole point of memory is to hold information as an electric charge to avoid the time it takes to write a physical data entry onto a disk, and so you can change/use a value without corrupting the data. Most computer operations require there to be two instances of any data in use, source directory and working memory. Memory also has to be relatively small as a program has to check the entire registry for data, and it must do it very quickly.
