#2 dude, your phone does not use satellites for signal, your phone doesn't even have enough strenth to even get out of the stratosphere... What you do use are those huge poles (which are called cells, and thats where the word cellular comes from). When you can't get a signal, it just means that you are between two of those huge poles. You can find phones which use satellites, but they are mostly for the army and they are the size of the first phone. Satellites are mostly used for other types of telecommunications, or they are also used for weather and many other things, but not for your phone.

It does look impressive but remember that the satellites in this video are not drawn to scale, they are in fact much, much smaller.
Mow, remember that the satellites are a few hundred if not thousands of miles up in space. Remember that the surface area of a sphere increases with the radius(squared). At the altitudes we are talking about, the "space" available in space is quite amazing, many times the amount of space available on the surface of the Earth. So fitting 13,000 satellites up there is like fitting 13,000 grain of sands in a football stadium.
Bottom line, you probably have better odds of winning the lottery twice than to hit a satellite while traveling through Earth's low orbit space.
Now the question is: Do we really need 13,000 satellites and how much damn carbon have we put in the atmosphere getting those things up there?

I think....Think not know that the following verse refers to the satelites...
Revelation 6:13
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

#19 Might be good to read what he says before trying to act smart, he allready mentioned the satellitephone.
#14 Many, many companies has a satellite up for whatever reason and how they get it up there is simply that they buy a slot on a spaceshuttle whos going up for exchanging astronauts in that dockcentral or are going on some mission. I'd like to think there's not a spaceshuttle whos going up just to place a satellite in orbit, maybe if they're placing many at the same time.

6 500 000 000 people / 13 000 satellites = 500 000...
