This had the beginnings of interesting but its brevity made it totally pointless.

I was shocked to know, that about 2kg bacils live in your guts forming some sort of an organ. Also I read that some deseas bacterias comunicate with each other and form an attack, when they know that they have reached big numbers. Instead of use antibiotics scientist plan to silance them, to cure people.

That was stupid... I mean... the number 1 spot. The same can be said about a horse or a penguin.

#1 A superorganism usually refers to eusocial species. eusociality describes a social system where some individuals forgo sexual reproduction to help raise the offspring of others. the term superorgansim is used because all the non-reproductive members of "hive" dont pass on any traits and genes - they dont evolve themselves, it is the queens genome that is subject to selection pressure. therefore all the members which dont reproduce can be considered what is called extrasomatic projections of the queens genome. hence she is a superorgansism.
the "imported fire ant" is acutally called solenopsis invicta. it is very interesting for our research because it demonstrates a step in eusocial evolution which occured not because of a new trait, but because a trait has been lost: the colonies lost ability to distinguish from each other, enabling them to work together and not fight.
