I wonder how much time they spend to create such cool waves?

haha wow that must have been so fun..... and I don't think I need to remind u guys how strong water current is.... these dudes just divided the beach in half I wonder if the power of the current is just going to keep making it bigger and bigger....

#3 The beach hasn't been destroyed. It's merely changed shape.

They drained a whole lake?

Well that water source must be on higher level than sea. But where they found that quantity and so close to sea?

This is great!

I think it's done with use of the tide (at the Waimea River).

They dig a trench during low tide, from a still water part the size of a lake that was flooded during high tide, down to the sea.

So the next high tide will probably fix the beach, fill up a new lake, and they can do it again.

Here is the video at regular speed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75MMzKs8MWE

Use google maps to show a nice topview of the Waimea River:

I am completely puzzled on this one. Is that a tidal pool that they were digging towards or a lake? Hope some one can tell us who was actually part of it. It looked like a good time though.
