The only people who are upset about gay people are nascar loving rednecks and the church.

1. Don't get married in the south of the USA.
2. Why would you care about the church thinks? Seriously they think a man lives in the sky :S.

If you have no issue with the above 2 points it's Ok to be gay.

I myself am straight as an arrow... but I believe each individual has the right to their way of life...as long as it does not conflict with another man's way of life. To each his own you might say.

to be gay or not gay... the only answer to this can be... WHO THE F*CK CARES ???

@viveroth: yeah right, and you still think the bible was written by god and Santa Claus is comming on chrismas eve too ?

#2 Good point actually, but language please! You have the right attitude, thats what this is all about. If everyone thought like you do there would be no pride festival and no gay guy on Snotr explaining how normal he is. Just gays, straights and bisexuals hanging out together as people, not sexual orientations.

the only persons who are thrilled by this talk are those gay-gays. objectively, his talk is just a regular one. he talked his little story and then eagerly jumped onto a conclusion that unfortunately is plain wrong. in fact, his gay parents had a huge impact on his character.

Love that. From Liz Feldman...

"The “gay marriage” issue is on the ballot in Arizona, California, and Florida. Personally, I am very excited about “gay marriage”, or as I like to call it, “marriage”. Because I had lunch this afternoon, I didn’t have “gay lunch”. And I parked my car, I didn’t “gay park” it. Although, I totally parked like a fucking fag!"

#2 Not really dude. Gays in Sodom and Gomorrah is historical fact, not only some phrases in Bible.
My answer didnt have anything to do with church.

When you judge someone based on the statistics from a certain group that he or she belongs to, instead of his personal actions that is called discrimination, which under any circumstance should be permitted by the state.

One can't choose to be homosexual, it's hard wired on your brain at the embryonic stage of your life, since the percentage is the same on every ethnic group and hasn't neither increase nor decrease over time, that makes it an evolutionary trait that's neither advantage nor disadvantage for our species, or stated properly just a normal variant of our brain.

So unless you use religious arguments (which almost always are tinted with prejudice, intolerance and ignorance), you don't have a real reason to oppose something that is not a crime but a human right.

#6 Historical fact? 3000 year old fairytales about God sending angels to save a man (Lot) and his daughters, so that the daughters could get him drunk and have sex with him for them to get pregnant with his babies, and not save his wife, since she turned around (to witness god's unjustified genocide) and became a pillar of salt (WTF?)...is historical fact?!

Read from Genesis 19:24-36
It's all there, and it's hilarious!

To be totally honest marriage should be totally abolished problem bloody solved , Number one cause of divorce ? Getting married in the first place , If people need a stupid piece of paper from the government or church to say "you have to stay together you said you would" And all this god bull crap even worse !

My aunt and uncle are together over 30 years and never got married , you know why they know there meant to be together and there not so bloody insecure that they need a piece paper stating it in black and white!

#7 that's not called discrimination, but a distinction. the core of discrimination is not at how to distinguish people, but at how to treat people. when you treat people unfairly/unjustly, it is a discrimination.
your claims on the origin of homo and the evolutionary advantage are baseless at best. imo, they are pretty ignorant statements.

#10 , #6 The term "Sodomite" was originally used to refer to an inhabitant of Sodom -- a city which was located somewhere on a plain in Canaan. It later became a legal term to refer to criminal sexual acts. It is now commonly used, at least on the Internet, airwaves and other media, by religious conservatives as a derogatory synonym for a lesbian or gay person -- and occasionally for a bisexual.

Besides that anything in the "Bible" is far far away from Fact. (there is more truth in a fairy tale) even the interpretation is wrong.

a diesease? are people fucking retarded? i am female and have been with men my whole life. my female partner of 3 and a half years has always been with men. we found eachother, a bond formed, then a closer bond formed, and we fell in love. souls have no gender and i'm not going to ignore my love for someone because they are the same sex. i don't need some asshole telling me what's right and wrong. my heart and head give me those answers. i'm not even attracted to other females and if we were to break up, chances are we would both be with men after. i really don't care how people perceive me because i am happy and i will marry her one day. what's really wrong about 2 people being in love, raising a child in a loving home? that's my schpiel. judge away if you want because i won't care!

I am all for open gay marriages who adopt, and I will tell you why.

People who are gay are that way through no fault of their own. Its not a choice, its genetic. So if its genetic why wouldnt that trait just eventually be self defeating? i.e if the tendency to mate with a member of ones own sex would not produce offspring and therefore the genes are not passed onto another generation.

What I do have a problem with is gay/lesbian couples who are able to use in-vitro fertilization to make a baby with there own genes. Now the gay gene is most likely recessive in nature, but there is no reason that this genetic anomaly couldnt be eradicated from our gene pool, OVER TIME.

Before anyone starts calling me a nazi, theres nothing wrong with wanting improving our species, its just the germans are a very efficient people and went to an extreme.

For gay marriage being on 32 different state ballots and being voted DOWN 32 times, I would think that people would get the hint that democratic America is still not ok with gay marriage.

It's also pretty sill how individuals with a sympathetic view towards the Gay Lesbian Bi Transgender issue are just as equally judgmental and harsh to their fellow countrymen with different views.

That's the part I don't get about the USA, this place was founded by people who wanted to have freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from oppressive regimes back in Europe.

I find it very weird to see that same sex marriage is such a hot issue in America... Sometimes I feel like the entire society has been hijacked by some religious zealots who's only agenda is to crush freedom and impose oppressive rules much like those from which the original American settlers ran away from in the first place...

I feel that some Americans have lost the true sense of the word freedom!

I haven't read all the comments here, and I'm not going to, but to the person behind comment #29: I wish your mother had heard about abortion in school
Picture of LQoQK44 achievements

-3 33. LQoQK commented 13 years ago

#31 & #32,
first of all my point was who is the one that decides what right or wrong? is it you father? mother? president? pope?

if a baby cant agree then would a 3 years old child or 7 ? or 15 or 18 years old? does it really make any difference?

and for #32 many don't agree on abortion, so again is your call to decide if this is wrong or right, or if I #29 should exist on earth and make a comment grant to me by freedom of speech?
Picture of JohnMichael32 achievements

-1 34. JohnMichael commented 13 years ago

#33 You compared homosexuals to pedophiliacs. No matter what excuse you hide behind to make your (fucked up) argument, it shows what kind of person you really are. Abortion is clearly to late for you, so I suggest euthanasia.
Picture of medicino30 achievements

+3 35. medicino commented 13 years ago

#11 that's why I used the word "judge" in my definition of discrimination to imply that an unfair treatment is given just based on the inclusion on certain group, regardless of the type, without taking into account your actions, in this case being gay does not instantly make you a pervert that should not be allowed to form a family with all the legal rights.

And I was not trying to talk about the origin of Homosexuality rather making the point that is not something that you decide to do with your life, gays are born not made, the fact that you grow up in a same sex parents family won't give you a sexual orientation or change the one that you have, furthermore evolutionary speaking is not against the benefit of our species, like many claim.

In my defense English is my second language so, probably the idea a was trying to convey was degenerated by my lack of knowledge about the language. :S :S

There is no proof that same sex couples cannot raise a child. There is, however, plenty of cases where "normal" couples seem to do everything in their power to mess their children up.......think about it.
