Almost all of Iraq's oil has been getting sold on the open market for years and it is the Chinese who have been buying it up. Now BP has joined in to reap some benifits from the NATO takeover of Iraq. Everyone is scrambling to get contracts there but the US has been a minor player so far. The US does not try to steal other country's resources,that is more like what England did when they invaded India so England could control the cotton trade.
