This isn't art, it's vadalism and having something so distracting a busy intersection like that just makes this "stunt" even more stupid. I sense hippy types are behind this.

If they at least actually "painted" anything, this is just ugly, such a waste of paint.

The people commuting on their bikes probably were not happy about paint being splashed up on their clothes. This was a rotten prank.

its a funny idea but i agree with #4 on this one. this is dangerous, not really smart. maybe rain will wash it away, but for savety the goverment has to clean it right away, wich cost money, resources. and time. making the whole thing not enviroment friendly.

yeah, that stunt wasn't very levelheaded, but since when do artists care?
btw, it was some kind of crayon mixed with water...

I was there and it was awesome. people who live in Berlin Mitte usually are very open minded towards streetart. nobody died, the police couldn't do anything and the city cleaning did it's job afterwards.

It was water-based paint that was used, therefore easily washed off, and wasn't harmful to the environment. The project wasn't a flash in the pan either, It was extensively planned and researched to ensure that the project was safe to drivers before it was carried out. Overall the project was positively accepted by the people of Berlin. Whilst I agree it costs money and time to clean it up, it's a nice bit of advertising for Berlin and promotes it as a city of art. :)

Most of the complainers here didn't even read the heading that the paint is indeed water based and environmentally safe. I totally agree with #14 for the reasons of this cool project.
