This is typical of the treatment I have received from law enforcement in America. I've seen other videos that show a different attitude and no doubt there are bad cops everywhere. It's refreshing to see a balance. Also (in my opinion) it seemed the guy being questioned was a bit paranoid and was being more defensive than the situation warranted.

It'd be great if people uploaded more videos in which officers are friendly and doing their job as they're supposed to. Obviously they wouldn't get as many hits as any video about police brutality since for some reason negative news are more interesting than positive ones. Unfortunately it's also the shitty way of the world to share your negative experiences while only sharing the exceptionally positive ones and it's such a shame really.. it only serves to make everything seem so much worse than it really is.

If anyone is a douche bag its the guy holding the camera... yeah it's true you can refuse to give your name etc. etc. but it just says your a douche bag with a gun... I hate people who intentionally walk around with a gun so citizens call it in so they can record the incident... its also true that there's a lot of idiots out there who have different agendas as he said.

Good cop.. good cop....no no no.

marine meets marine.

if you have any idea what this means, its the reason the stop went the way it did.

Rather to wish for more cops like that, how about wishing for less dickheads in the world? Cuz the guy walking around with a gun and a camera trying to start trouble, probably the biggest fuckhead I've ever come across.

If this guy was in South Florida ie..Miami Beach or Broward Sheriff he'd be shot, charged with resisting with violence and tazed.

You guys from countries where the Government forbids you from having guns just don't know what true freedom is all about. The police officer did his job properly even though I think the guy was a little rude/paranoid and was hoping for trouble.
Just imagine if there had been a few armed citizens on that island in Norway....the crazy shooter could have been stopped so much sooner.
And in the UK if you kill a man who is attacking you in your home you will still be convicted of manslaughter and go to prison! Recent case law in England is making self-defence illegal regardless of what common law states.

lets get this straight guy walking around with a gun does not give his name to the police and they let him off free .?
Wow you guys have it easy in the USA
try doing that in Australia or just refusing to give your name ,you would be taken away locked up, beaten if you were a smart ass like our friend and if you were carrying a weapon around like that they would have shot you first then asked questions later. To get FIREARMS you need licence to get licence you need police checks/criminal record long process not to forget the gun club you must attend to keep your weapon strict rules and hefty fines if not met...and you NEVER carry in public

#14 who has the lower gun related crime?
Picture of Zebedee27 achievements

+7 16. Zebedee commented 13 years ago

#14 Of course, if a good guy has gun he can maybe stop a bad guy with a gun. But if there are less guns, there are less people shot with guns. And not just less bad people shot with guns, but less good people shot with guns too. Is that not better?

I use 'good' and 'bad' in the absolutist sense as I'm crudely guessing that works for you.
Picture of sux2bu67 achievements

+4 17. sux2bu commented 13 years ago

#16 Well if you can promise me that all the "bad" guys, as you like to call them, will give up their guns you would see gun crime reduced drastically and law abiding people can keep theirs for sport shooting and hunting. Let me know when that happens.
Picture of Teqskater32 achievements

#16 Totaly agree. If you have a gun you are more likely to use a gun then if you don't.
Picture of Zebedee27 achievements

#17 So you don't want less people to die because that would mean less animals dying too?
Picture of sux2bu67 achievements

+2 20. sux2bu commented 13 years ago

#18 And if you have a car it is more likely that you will drive than if you didn't. More people by far are killed with cars than with guns. Let's outlaw cars.
And knife crime in the UK is a big problem....I know, let's outlaw knives.
Freedom escapes you guys, but you were born into it and know nothing else.
When seconds count , the police are only minutes away.
Picture of Havix25 achievements

-2 21. Havix commented 13 years ago

#16 O course if you take away the guns you may not get shoot and if you take away thier knives you may not get stabed. Do you know what an IED is. That is a better way to do things right. Thats what happens places that have a real nice way of living. You should go spend some time in place like that.

#20 Lets outlaw cars - right because your comparison is really great. Cars are obviously there to kill things, its their purpose.

Less weapons are a good idea. Period.

20. Guns are made purely for killing and maiming.Whether they are in the hands of "good" or "bad" people. What logical argument for its possession can u have knowing that?

So this guy was carrying a handgun around, didn't need to show his I.D, didn't need to show any kind of licence for the firearm, says it's his right to carry it in a public place and gets to walk away?? What kind of fucked up law is that! :O

The other day I was walking to auto zone. I crossed the street and turned in the alley. As I crossed the street I noticed a cop car a few cars back. The cop decided to turn around and drive down the alley. He stopped his car right in front of me and told me to "come here". He started going through my pockets and asking me who I was and where I was going. Asking me if I have ID. I told him no and he was giving me a hard time asking me for my name address birth date etc. I asked him why he pulled me over and he told me I was walking in the alley with no ID. He said if I had ID it wouldnt be a problem. After he ran me through the computer he told me "you can go".The only reason these cops didnt hassle this guy is because he had a camera and he knew his rights.

After I walked away from the cop I thought of this video.
