Cool. But why not just use an ordinary digital camera. Today's CMOS sensors can do miracles with a proper software

A nice evolution, perfect!
It will help a lot for 3d modelling. For exemple, we'll just have to move the mouse everywhere on a girl to get her captured in the 3d software! :P

Not quite the first scanner mouse or a first for that matter.

http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/08/turn-your-optical-mouse-into-a-crappy-scanner/

This may be the first commercial scanner mouse. And think how good it will be after a few weeks with all that gunk mice pick up...

LOL

after you cropped the image, you are told to open up WORD
and if you scanned some text, you can color it in WORD as well.

great mouse scanner, but come one. winXP and Word for image editing?
looks like LG made the mouse and this hotty was told to create the presentation.

#3, for a mouse you need more fps than a regular camera. Say 14000 fps.
