I wonder how long a tin can would be preserved on the moon...

#5 Forever. On the moon, there is no atmosphere, so the only thing which can degrade a can are meteorites. In fact, if a meteorite hits the moon, the can might get hit by some shredded rocks or a lot of dusk. Even better, if the meteorite hits the can, then it is disintegrated in a bunch of small pieces. Otherwise, it will just sit where you left it.

actually I am not small minded but my work (my actual work) is to look at the root cause of a problem that's is not the regular consumer. the root causes are the governments regulations (I work in the government and believe me its not easy to make regulations where there are tonnes of conflict of interest) and rich people wanting to be richer.

#7, government is never the answer to any problem. Education is. People who are educated tend to make better decisions. Anyone who would simply throw their trash down is an uneducated fool.
