Couldn't they think up a better 'accident' for the dirty clothes? It made her feel mad with hate and disbelief. They could 'act' to make him look clumsy by spilling something on himself. Or by something that would drop from the sky/ceiling.

Furthermore, nice wedding proposal. Nice party.
