Close call with a landmine

Point of view of a Marine in Afghanistan experiencing a very close call with an improvised landmine (or ground IED). He lived.

Sometimes the Taliban will line rocks to mark where the locals shouldn't walk past. The rocks are stacked at the beginning of alleyways or intersections to mark that there are IEDs there.

I'm not blaming the soldier. I just agreed to #2 that they should not be there in the first place. Ergo, no landmine would be there also.

They are about to start drilling oil in Uganda and suddenly USA is sending some forces in.. :D

USA allready killed Osama Bin Laden and Saddam.. Shouldn't the war be over?.. Shouldn't USA leave Iraq and Afganistan and let they mind their own business from now on? I think YES!!!

Are we gonna get blamed for terrorism also if we find some oil in Finland? >:)

Destruction of the Twin Tower is still a mystery as there are may theories to it. For instance why not a single Jew was working in the Twin Tower on that day? :S

Okay we are much stronger than Afghans, Irakis... Shouldn't we defend ourselves if they attack or threaten us?

If I am crazy enough to give a punch in martial art champion's face, wouldn't he be right to break my arm and kick my ass in return?

In France we have anti racist movements, it's a good thing, but why they don't have such movements in arabs and african countries?

Why it is permitted in France to express "criticism" against "americans" (because of capitalism, world leadership, success in sciences, ecological issues, wasp domination against blacks, Mac Donald's food, Walt Disney, Hollywood, big cars, big people, american flag on the moon, ...) (Haters also forgot canadians, mexicans, ... live also in america...). But expressing criticism against arabs is always racist? (here arabs means muslims and forgot christian arabs)

Many people have not well balanced ideas.

Okay, let them continue to send us terrorists (police arrest more than one hundred of them per year in France), let them build massive destruction bombs, one day or another we'll have no choice fight or die.

Well, pretty much nobody here has a clue what they are looking at or what they are talking about.
Amazing that this was posted 7 years to the day after I tried (unsuccesfully) to save the life of a fellow soldier whose hummer was hit by a car bomb.

What would I do, if Any other country sends in troops here in Amsterdam the near future, to burn my marihuana plants( in case the govrement allows us to have 5 of them.)

Only because in that country maruhuana is a illegal drug they give death peanlelty for poccesion? Or is it we have the biggest gas fields of the world( enough to keep us warm for 500 years), Saving it for our own people and selling a little to the rest...

I would place landmines to keep them from hurting my family, And I don't care whoever it is. (they get a small warning.)

#(removed comment) Americans ... I just clicked on your profile to make sure that you are on, although not really needed. Your comment gave it away already. ;)
I'm not justifying what happened on 9/11, it's a tragedy nonetheless. But to say that this incident was the catalyst on America's global acting you are plaing wrong.

By the way, your comment reminds me of this: "What's the difference between Americans and yogurt? If you leave yogurt alone for 200 years, it'll grow a culture."

9-11 was carried out in order to JUSTIFY the wars in Afghanistan in Iraq, for control of oil, pipelines and heroin trafficking.

We have ample proof of this, even people in the government are coming forward.

Think about that for a second.

This is becoming too political for my taste, and perhaps to the Snotr rules. No one would have reacted this way if a gas thank in the city exploded, parts of a building felled too close on a pedestrian...

#8 A war rarely ends with merely the death of one man, no matter how high up the ladder he is. Just saying.

Also what do you think would happen if the US were to suddenly pull the plug on their current operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and leave the countries on their own? You can't possibly think they'd be better off with such a drastic action.
Picture of Jabafara56 achievements

-1 28. Jabafara commented 13 years ago

#27 You are right about both things, but I think they are stalling too much to pull their forces away from there: One of the main reasons for violence in Iraq is that they are still occupying their country, although they already have their own government, police, etc.

Whether they're supposed to be there or not doesn't really matter for these guys, what they do is cleaning up the IED's that kill their troops and innocent civilians. I respect these soldiers for what they do, and I definitely wouldn't want to be in their place... Most of them didn't even choose to do this job.

Please keep the political talking to a minimum. Of course every one is allowed to have an opinion but this is not the place to discuss who may be right or who may be wrong or whats the truth and what not.
As #24 mentioned..it is a vid of an explosion..not a question to you guys who did it or why.

American are the cause of everything wrong in the world? So what, you want to kill them all? First, you began by spreading lies, like "jews weren't in the towers" (#13): bullshit is better than that lies. Than, you will explain that american kill other americans doing fake attacks because of oil greed or whatever. Explain me the big crisis in which we are now: where is the oil for free? Big parts of our money, american and european, is gone in the wars against terrorists. Too many lives too.

Telling americans are bad because of lack of culture... What is it permitted to say about other peoples in the world? In arabs countries, they have nearly no translation about our books, because we are "infidels". Do you know that is a muslim goes christian by conversion, he can be automatically sentenced to death? Is it the same any christian countries, for people converting to islam? Is it the same in the unique jewish country? No!

And all of that wrong behaviors are the american's fault? Really?

Does the hundreds of mad mens and women coming and arrested just before putting bombs in public places in France since september 2001 are fake terrorists remotely controlled by the CIA? Or, much simpler, very badly educated people?

#19 So just why did the Islamists attack the WTC way back in 1993 and try to topple them?

"and don't tell me the usa is such a peacefull country, in many ways they are worse than the taliban."

I hope you get to live under taliban or al queda control some day,I bet you will change your tune.
